Missouri-Illinois Weather Alert: 2″+ Snow Chance Growing in St. Louis, Springfield March 1-2

St. Louis, Missouri-Illinois Border – Drivers along I-70, I-64 and I-55 could encounter snow-covered lanes by 6 a.m. Sunday as a developing winter system pushes toward the Mississippi River, bringing a 30 to 50 percent chance of at least 2 inches of accumulation before 6 a.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest probabilities for 2 inches or more currently stretch from central and eastern Missouri into west-central and southern Illinois. The corridor includes St. Louis, Columbia, Jefferson City and extends east toward Belleville, Effingham and Centralia. Snow is expected to develop late Saturday night and intensify at times through Sunday, especially during the morning and midday travel window…
