Kansas town won’t cut firework sales period in half after all

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Newton City Commission finalized the parameters of its 2026 fireworks season on Tuesday.

Sales are permitted from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 27 through July 4. Fireworks can be set off from noon to midnight from July 1 through July 4.

The commission could amend the ordinance after Independence Day, following a review of reports from its fire and police departments.
