Repeat DWI offender pleads guilty in latest case

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man who police say crashed into an officer’s patrol unit while drunk in 2025 has pleaded guilty to charges including aggravated DWI.

According to police, 42-year-old Clayton Means was driving west on Gibson near Carlisle when he hit a patrol unit and an officer who was trying to block traffic for a different crash. Court records show Means has at least four prior DWI convictions. In 2019, Means drove the wrong way after an officer tried to stop him for a car crash. He admitted to drinking and served more than three years probation for that case.
