Over the weekend, o rganic farmers in Idaho held a conference to tout the benefits of a natural approach to agriculture. After a five-year hiatus, the Grower’s Own Organic Farming Conference met in Caldwell Saturday.
Tim Sommer, a veteran Idaho organic farmer, has been with the conference since it started and says it’s come a long way.
The Future Of Organic In Idaho Looks Good
“This Grower’s Own Conference became powerful in that way of giving us, one, some reassurance that we’re all on the same path, and giving us some encouragement, but also sharing knowledge,” Sommer said. “And today that is still the case, and we’re working on a whole new group of young farmers that have both the knowledge and the desire to grow better food.”
