SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — 12 new Old Testament-themed songs have been added to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hymnbook in the “Hymns for Home and Church” collection.
These hymns go along with the 2026 course of study being the Old Testament. The songs are being released in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French, bringing the total number of songs in the collection to 72.
Some changes are also being made to some hymns within the new hymnbook. According to the Church, “lyric changes focus on improving doctrinal clarity or replacing culturally outdated words and phrases.” The first song with updated lyrics is “When I Am Baptized.”
