PHOTOS: National Guard soldier badly hurt in deadly DC ambush reunites with firefighters

The West Virginia National Guard member who was shot in D.C. in November 2025 reunited with firefighters who helped save his life on Thursday.

Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe and his parents met with two DC Fire and EMS (DCFEMS) members who helped save his life. A gunman shot Wolfe and killed West Virginia Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 29, near D.C.’s Farragut Square.
