Body found in Pasco sunken vehicle identified as man on trial for child molestation charges

PASCO, Wash. – Pasco police are conducting a homicide investigation at Chiawana Park Friday morning after finding a dead body in a vehicle underwater.

According to dispatch records, emergency personnel were dispatched to Chiawana Park at about 8:12 a.m. on February 27 for a subject in the Columbia River in need of rescue. Personnel from Pasco Police Department and Pasco Fire Department arrived at the boat ramp near Road 88 to find a vehicle under the water and commenced a search and rescue operation.

Pasco police said they determined a deceased person was in the vehicle, and changed their search and rescue operation to a homicide investigation. Two boats were deployed, and a tow truck was called the scene to retrieve the vehicle from the river.
