Truck full of donated food arrives for Birmingham families

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A JustServe-branded semi-truck carrying approximately 40,000 pounds of donated food arrived Thursday at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama. It’s all part of a national effort to deliver 250 truckloads of food to communities across all 50 states.

The delivery is a collaboration among America250, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.

The 250 deliveries are expected to provide approximately 10 million meals to families in need across the United States. The church is using its humanitarian food resources, volunteer network, and established infrastructure to support the effort…
