LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) — Beauregard Elementary was chosen as one of nine schools in Alabama to be awarded the Alabama Attorney General’s Safe Schools Initiative Award on Monday.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the selection criteria looked at school’s Emergency Operation Plan, training, enhanced security measures, School Resource Officers program, collaboration with local emergency response agencies and more criteria that deemed the school “safe”.
