A trio of escaped cattle created an unusual traffic situation in upstate New York on Monday afternoon when they broke free from their transport and wandered onto Interstate 90 near Buffalo, proving that sometimes you just can’t moo-ve traffic along as planned.
The incident began around 2:10 p.m. when New York State Police received reports of livestock roaming the roadway near Exit 56 in Blasdell. According to State Police spokesperson Beau Duffy, the animals had fled from a broken-down livestock hauler that had pulled over on the highway’s shoulder.
Footage from the scene showed a community effort to round up the wayward bovines, with bystanders and officials working side by side. Some rescuers attempted to lasso the animals with rope, while truck drivers maneuvered their vehicles into the highway median in an effort to guide the cattle back toward their trailer…
