Knoxville police: Missing man found dead, person of interest charged

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A man is in custody after Knoxville Police Department officers began looking into the death of a man who went missing on Feb. 22.

The case centers on 54-year-old Tommy “Eddie” Hundley. According to KPD, Hundley went missing that Sunday, and officers found his car seemingly abandoned. Investigators found his body Thursday.

“Following a lengthy investigation that included dozens of interviews, Hundley’s body was found on Thursday afternoon on Burnett Creek Road in South Knox County,” KPD Communications Manager Scott Erland said. “There were no obvious signs of trauma, but cause of death is unknown at this time and pending the findings of an autopsy that is being conducted by Regional Forensic Center staff.”…
