MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Following the retirement of Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock, the city announced Friday that it has hired a specialized firm to find her replacement, which could take until “early to mid-summer.”
The City of Myrtle Beach said it has hired Public Sector Search & Consulting to conduct a nation-wide search for the next chief, following Chief Prock’s announcement that she will be retiring April 2 after 30 years of service.

City Manager Fox Simons shared a message with police department personnel, city staff, and city council detailing the process and next steps on Thursday.
