Leesburg man with firearm allegedly threatens to kill friend’s mother and grandmother

A Leesburg man was arrested for assualt after allegedly threatening to kill his friend’s mother and grandmother with a gun.

A deputy responded to a verbal dispute with a gun, later found to involve 24-year-old Kemyus Jajuan Manuel, at a Fruitland Park residence around 10:40 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, the deputy met with the mother of one of Manuel’s friends. She advised that her 18-year-old son had gotten into a physical altercation with his father and was arrested earlier in the morning. Manuel showed up at her house after the fact, claiming to know what happened, the report said.

She explained that she came home from getting coffee to find Manuel sitting on the couch with her mother. When she learned her son was not home because he had been taken to jail, she asked why. Manuel stated it was her fault, the report said…
