Accused child molester who once fled to Mexico released on bond

(FOX40.COM) — A former fugitive who once fled to Mexico to avoid child sexual assault charges has been released on bond despite prosecutors’ strenuous objections.

Carlos Galvez-Ramirez faces four counts related to the alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 10 from between 2014 and 2016. He was extradited from Mexico in 2023 to face those charges in Sacramento and pleaded not guilty in June 2024.
