Roanoke man arrested in Augusta County following pursuit

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – A man from Roanoke was arrested Thursday night in Augusta County following a pursuit that ended in Verona.

According to the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy attempted to pull over a driver on Interstate 81 for speeding, traveling 83 miles per hour.

When the deputy caught up to the vehicle, the driver got off the interstate at the Verona exit and refused to stop. The pursuit continued on Laurel Hill Road, through the Riverside Subdivision, then back onto Laurel Hill Road, ending in the Food Lion parking lot…
