Fake Bomb Hostage Call Triggers Hard Rock Casino Scare in Yuba County

What started as a terrifying late-night call turned into an hours-long police operation at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain on Thursday, after a man phoned in a bomb and hostage threat that law enforcement later determined was not credible.

According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, a caller told dispatch he was holding a hostage and planned to detonate a bomb within the hour. Deputies immediately swarmed the property, staging at the main entrance and fanning out through the casino while additional law enforcement resources moved in to watch for anything suspicious. After a thorough sweep, investigators reported finding no credible threat, and no injuries were reported.
