State Police arrested an Upstate New York man on Thursday for allegedly using forged license plates to dodge toll charges that were instead billed to an unsuspecting driver’s EZPass account.
Mazin S. Kakoum, 27, of Clifton Park, faces three counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a class D felony. State Police made the arrest with assistance from the Schenectady Police Department.
The investigation began one day earlier when State Police received a complaint from a Rensselaer County resident reporting fraudulent activity on their EZPass account.
