Lincoln man takes plea deal in 2024 fatal shooting of longtime acquaintance

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln man accused of killing a longtime acquaintance back in 2024 took a plea deal on Friday, amending his charges in Lancaster County District Court and ultimately being found guilty.

Jacob Mulloy, 55, was accused of killing 52-year-old John Armstrong back in April 2024 over a disagreement about Armstrong coming into his apartment near 11th and G streets uninvited. At the time, Lincoln Police said a physical fight broke out between the two, before Mulloy pulled a gun and shot Armstrong.

Mulloy had previously entered a not guilty plea, and late last year was planning to plead insanity…
