Northeast Minneapolis brewery to close taproom in April

After almost a decade of slinging beers, HeadFlyer Brewing is closing its taproom in Northeast Minneapolis.

The beloved brewery made the announcement on Thursday, calling the change a pivot in its operating model. However, it’s not the end of the brand entirely.

Co-owners Amy and Neil Miller and Austin Lee wrote in a letter to customers that HeadFlyer will continue to brew, distributing beers to liquor stores, bars, and restaurants. It’s a similar move to what fellow Northeast brewery Fair State Brewing Cooperative announced in December, closing its taproom, but continuing to distribute beer.

“What began truly as a Dream in Amy and Neil’s garage, grew into something far bigger and more meaningful than we ever imagined and we are so incredibly proud of what we have accomplished,” the letter reads…
