A St. Louis high school experiment made it over 100,000 feet into the sky before gently crashing in Tennessee

ST. LOUIS — Sitting on top of a table in an upper floor St. Louis University High School classroom is a slightly beat up Styrofoam cooler attached to a wooden a-frame. This is not an ordinary Styrofoam cooler.

“This is like the payload and I was assigned to work with the sensors,” senior Joseph Azar said, opening the cooler to reveal more wires and boxes.

Fellow senior Daniel O’Neill pointed out a few more instruments: “I worked on the top camera and the radar.”…
