ADA COUNTY, Idaho — A new program in the Ada County Jail aims to provide second chances for incarcerated individuals.
The Ada County Sheriff’s Office is launching a new program aimed at reducing repeat offenses by focusing on education inside the jail. The initiative, called IGNITE — Inmate Growth Naturally and Intentionally Through Education — is part of a national effort to break the cycle of incarceration.
Ada County already offers several programs to help people prepare for life after jail, including substance‑abuse treatment, workforce readiness training, and GED preparation. Officials say IGNITE will build on those efforts rather than replace them…
