BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Idaho anglers will have more chances to reel in rainbow trout this month as Idaho Fish and Game stocks approximately 110,000 catchable-sized fish in lakes and ponds across the state in March.
Fish and Game said the stocking is aimed at boosting local fisheries and providing easy, family-friendly fishing opportunities. Stocked rainbow trout can be a way to introduce new anglers to the sport with simple, inexpensive gear. A fishing license is required, and youth under 14 fish for free. Licenses can be purchased by smartphone, allowing anglers to start fishing immediately.
