Family disputes police account in toddler’s hostage death, retains counsel

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The family of a child killed in a hostage situation involving his father earlier this month held a press conference with their attorneys on Friday afternoon.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the child, identified as 3-year-old Kentre Baker, was held hostage by his father, Quinton Baker, on Feb. 3 at an apartment complex in the 8400 block of South Maryland Parkway.

Police say the child was shot by his father, who was pointing a gun at him as he approached officers at the scene. He later died from his injuries at a hospital…
