South Tucson is a tiny, one-square-mile city inside Tucson ๐ต๐ค that most people donโt even know is its own city ๐๏ธ๐คซ. Its mayor, Roxanna Valenzuela ๐ฉโ๐ผ, went on a local TV show called The Press Room ๐บ๐๏ธ to talk about the big challenges her community is facing ๐งโโ๏ธ.
She explained why the city decided to get rid of special cameras that read license plates ๐ธ๐๐ซ โ because many residents, mostly people of color, were scared the cameras could help immigration agents find and arrest their family members ๐ฎโโ๏ธ๐ฐ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ.
