Laytonsville native Maggie Toomey is appearing in the newly released feature film How to Make a Killing, which debuted last weekend starring Glen Powell and Margaret Qualley.
The dark comedy follows Becket Redfellow, played by Powell, a blue-collar man disowned at birth by his obscenely wealthy family who is determined to reclaim his inheritance, no matter how many relatives stand in his way. Qualley stars as Julia, the film’s female lead.
Maggie plays young Julia, a key supporting role that helps establish the emotional core of the story. Her character is the childhood friend and early crush of Becket Redfellow, portrayed as a child by Grady Wilson before Powell assumes the role in adulthood.
