CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Quentin Lamar Burgess, the Kents Store man who pled guilty to second-degree murder for the death of his aunt, Carolyn Grooms, was sentenced in Fluvanna County Circuit Court on Feb. 19.
He was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with five years suspended, resulting in an active sentence of 35 years.
“Incidents of violence within the home have lasting and devastating impacts on families and communities,” said Major David R.
