Regarding the current push to abolish property taxes in Ohio: Politicians don’t listen. If they had listened to the people and eliminated all property taxes for senior citizens, then this issue probably would have never come to this.
The world is changing every day, and schools are about the only entities that haven’t downsized but have expanded. They continue adding courses, teachers, and administrators paid for by taxes that have made residential housing unaffordable to many seniors.
I was born and raised in Olmsted Falls, with one of the best school systems in Ohio. Then, there was one principal, one assistant principal, a secretary, and a nurse. Now, they have many assistant principals and counselors. Children get free breakfast, lunches, and computers, and courses for everything under the moon, even opportunities to earn associate degrees…
