Teacher on leave accused of hurting elementary student, mother says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A teacher has been placed on administrative leave after a parent says her son came home accusing his teacher of abuse.

The student’s mother told NewsNation local affiliate WREG she’s disappointed and angry that her Memphis Performing Arts and Creative (MPAC) Academy student was picked on by his 3rd-grade homeroom and math teacher.

Dynasty Fennell said she enrolled her children at MPAC Academy for the prestigious reputation, and that she never expected her child to be mistreated by his teacher.
