SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The City of Savannah is moving forward with redevelopment plans for the Westside Canal District, and officials said the goal goes beyond just building new structures. Leaders want to make sure long-time residents are part of the plan as neighborhoods evolve.
The planning effort, which began about five years ago, was launched to address potential impacts from the construction of Enmarket Arena and to explore opportunities for revitalization. City staff have been working with neighborhoods and the broader community to guide development while limiting negative effects on residents.
