Blue Line Beatdown In Loop Train Car As Cops Hunt 8 Suspects

A late-morning CTA Blue Line ride in the Loop turned violent when a group of eight people allegedly beat and robbed a rider near the Jackson station, and Chicago police say they are now combing the city for the attackers.

The Feb. 13 assault and robbery happened around 11:25 a.m. aboard a train in the 300 block of South Dearborn, according to authorities. Two weeks later, investigators released surveillance images showing eight suspected attackers and are asking anyone who recognizes them to speak up.

Police say the group consisted of five men and three women who were seen leaving the train in the Loop after the incident. Detectives also circulated clothing descriptions in an effort to jog riders’ memories…
