An Avondale man is facing felony charges after allegedly firing a gun at another vehicle during a road rage confrontation on the Kennedy Expressway last week, injuring a 14-year-old boy.
Illinois State Police said the altercation occurred around 3:14 p.m. on February 18 near Ogden Avenue. According to prosecutors, someone inside an orange Hyundai Santa Fe threw a cup at Garcia’s vehicle during the altercation. At that point, Rene Garcia, 52, pulled out a gun and opened fire on the other car, ISP said.
The 14-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Santa Fe, was struck by gunfire. The other driver transported the boy to a hospital, where he was treated for what ISP described as “non-life-threatening injuries.”…
