LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Olde Tyme Grocery, a staple near the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, has been serving up its renowned sandwiches for over 40 years. Known for drawing crowds, especially on Fridays during Lent, the restaurant has faced new challenges this year.
Construction along St. Mary Street has led to road closures, impacting traffic and parking near the restaurant. However, Olde Tyme Grocery continues to thrive thanks to its dedicated customer base.
“We do have a very loyal fan base here,” said Kyle Maurer, manager of Olde Tyme Grocery. “Our clientele finds us. It has been a challenge, though. The biggest thing for us at Olde Tyme Grocery is to just put the word out and to communicate.”…
