A portion of U.S. Route 69 that runs through Platte County shut down Thursday for emergency repairs, marking the start of a month-long closure, officials said.
Both the southbound and northbound lanes of the highway, also known as Northwest Vivion Road, are expected to remain closed at the intersection of Frontier Street just south of Northmoore through March 25 due to “emergency pavement repair,” the Missouri Department of Transportation said in a news release. The closure will stretch between the Silver Eagle Auto Mall and Premier Motors KC, totalling about 0.1 miles.
“This closure is for pavement and shoulder repair,” a spokesperson for MoDOT said in an email. “There is a sizeable pothole that has developed in the project area. A full closure will allow us to make the needed repairs.”
