Dallas driver dies in Callahan County crash on I-20

CALLAHAN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A Dallas man was killed early Friday morning following a crash at a rest area along Interstate 20 in Callahan County.

Vargas Samuel Angel, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision, which occurred around 2:33 a.m. at the eastbound rest stop near mile marker 297.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a vehicle was traveling east on I-20, exited into the roadside rest area, and struck the rear of a legally parked tractor-trailer. Police say the impact ejected the driver from the vehicle. The car then caught fire and burned…
