‘We made eye contact with this guy’: Witnesses speak after Taylorsville shooting

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — Multiple agencies responded to an active shooter situation in which two people, including the suspect, were injured. ABC4’s Mckenzie Diaz spoke with witnesses who came face-to-face with the suspect.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, police responded to the State Wine and Liquor Store in Taylorsville after reports of an active shooter. When they arrived, they found that multiple individuals had been shot.

One individual, identified only as a male, had entered the store and fired a weapon multiple times, hitting another person. An officer with the Department of Public Safety was inside the store and shot the first individual.

Both the initial victim and the suspected shooter were transported to the hospital in stable condition. At this time, police have not publicly identified them…
