Maryland Gov. Wes Moore Warns Families Of Local Impact As Iran Conflict Escalates

With military operations escalating overseas, Governor Wes Moore said Saturday, Feb. 28, that international conflict carries “a direct and profound impact on Maryland families and communities.”

Maryland is home to a heavy concentration of active-duty service members, the Maryland National Guard, Fort Meade, Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Aberdeen Proving Ground, and major defense facilities.

“As Governor of the State of Maryland, I have a solemn duty to protect the safety and security of all Marylanders,” Moore said from Annapolis. He added that he is “closely monitoring the ongoing military operations in Iran and their implications both at home and abroad.”…
