Birmingham-area meteorologist Taylor Sarallo has signed off from WVTM-TV 13 amid tributes from co-workers.
Sarallo’s last day on air, at least for the near term, was Friday. There was no mystery about the cause: Sarallo had let viewers know that she was stepping away ahead of the birth of her first child.
Sarallo has been a fixture in the Birmingham market for about six years. The Texas native came to WBMA-TV ABC 33/40 in 2019 after stints in Dothan and Mobile. While at 33/40 there she earned high praise from Chief Meteorologist James Spann, who in an AL.com interview described her as “a brilliant scientist … [with] the heart of a servant.”…
