CHARLESTON, S.C. (Palmetto Life) — Two young Lowcountry entrepreneurs are selling handmade sweetgrass crafts and crochet clothing and accessories through Pineapple Carriage Boutique’s online store and on Etsy.
Koba and Sarabi Owens displayed their handmade goods, which include crochet cardigans, beanies, headbands, bags, necklaces, and earrings.
Crochet business rooted in YouTube discovery
Koba said she discovered crocheting while scrolling through YouTube and came across a video of someone making a crochet sweater.
“So really, what just happened was just randomly scrolling on YouTube,” Koba said. “I was just scrolling, you know, just doing my own little thing. It’s always on social media. And then I came across the video. This girl, she was making a sweater and it was crochet. And after that I just fell in love with it.”…
