Coffee County High School’s Lady Raiders pulled off a commanding win Friday night, defeating the Ooltewah High School Lady Owls 57-38 to advance in the Region 3-4A tournament.
From the tip, Coffee County set the tone with an aggressive offense and lockdown defense, building a lead that Ooltewah could never overcome.
Fast Start for Coffee County
The Lady Raiders came out firing, controlling the pace and limiting Ooltewah’s scoring opportunities. By the end of the first quarter, Coffee County led 20-6, showing early dominance on both ends of the court.
Coffee County Maintains Momentum
The Lady Raiders continued their pressure in the second quarter, stretching their advantage to 30-18 by halftime. Natalie Barnes led the way with 12 points and six rebounds at the break, while Ooltewah’s Aleigha Taylor kept the Lady Owls within striking distance with 10 first-half points.
Third Quarter Push
After halftime, Coffee County kept the pressure on. Both teams exchanged baskets early in the third quarter, but the Lady Raiders’ consistent scoring extended the lead to 41-27 entering the final period.
Barnes and Harris Shine in Closing
The fourth quarter showcased standout performances from the Lady Raiders’ leaders. Natalie Barnes poured in 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Hayleigh Harris added 11 points and nine boards. Audri Patton contributed 10 points, and freshman Jenslee Nogodula added nine, helping secure the comfortable win. Jaydee Nogodula chipped in three points.
Ooltewah’s Aleigha Taylor finished with a game-high 20 points, followed by Allie Tipton with 13, but the Lady Owls could not overcome Coffee County’s balanced attack and defensive intensity.
