Columbus deputy chief suspended over investigation into alleged lies

A Columbus police deputy chief is on leave due to an investigation into whether he lied to an assistant chief about parking tickets issued by another officer.

According to records released by Columbus police, First Assistant Chief LaShanna Potts filed a complaint against Deputy Chief Elrico Alli on Feb. 20. Potts placed Alli on “relieved of duty status” the same day.
