BENSON — Emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to rescue a driver trapped inside an overturned vehicle Friday afternoon following a crash near Benson.
The single-vehicle accident occurred on N.C. Highway 27 at Red Hill Church Road, just inside Harnett County.
A Harnett County deputy sheriff came upon the crash moments after it happened and immediately requested emergency assistance.
Witnesses said the vehicle was traveling westbound on N.C. 27 when it veered off the roadway at the four-way stop intersection and overturned multiple times in a field.
First responders extricated the driver and transported the individual by ambulance to Betsy Johnson Hospital. The extent of the driver’s injuries was not immediately available…
