MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — Court records show a man now charged in the Joe Cain Day mass shooting was himself wounded in a separate shooting in 2024 under strikingly similar circumstances.
Investigators confirm 21-year-old Devon Jeffery is charged with multiple counts of first-degree assault after seven people were shot on Dauphin Street during Mardi Gras celebrations. Court records show Jeffery was previously listed as a victim in a 2024 barbershop shooting that also injured multiple people after an argument escalated into gunfire.
Police have not announced any direct connection between the two cases, but both shootings involved public disputes that ended with several bystanders caught in the crossfire…
