Pensacola removing 33 crape myrtle trees for old Baptist Hospital demo

Pensacola’s Baptist Hospital demolition contractor will remove 33 crape myrtle trees on its portion of the old hospital property to allow heavy equipment to enter and exit during the hospital’s demolition.

None of the trees set for removal are the iconic live oaks that dot the campus.

At the end of last year, there was controversy over the removal of 68 trees on the portion of the old hospital property that had been purchased by Paces Preservation Partners to build an affordable family and senior housing development.
