Deputies search for more Central NY victims of Facebook marketplace car sales scam

Bloomfield, N.Y. – Ontario County sheriff’s deputies are looking for more victims of an Onondaga County man who sold cars through Facebook Marketplace but then didn’t deliver the vehicles or didn’t provide proper titles.

The sheriff’s office on Thursday put out a call seeking additional victims. Deputies said the man sold a vehicle with an active lien that he did not disclose to a buyer in Bloomfield, which left additional financial and legal complications for the buyer.

The man selling cars, Ulises Hernandez Jr., 32, of Clay, was arrested by Manlius police on Feb. 5. He was charged with first-degree scheme to defraud, five counts of third-degree grand larceny and three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny…
