Santa Barbara Historic Landmarks Commission Approves New Restaurant Project in Former Patio of “Blush Lounge”

The Santa Barbara Historic Landmarks Commission granted final approval for a small dining and commercial project at 628 State Street, located in the El Pueblo Viejo (EPV) district, during its meeting on February 25, 2026.

The proposal, dubbed the “Del Sol Restaurant,” includes two buildings (1,516 sq. ft. and 454 sq. ft.), a trellis, and an outdoor dining area. It’s located in the former outdoor patio and bar area of “Blush Lounge” next to the walk-up Habit Grill restaurant.

Project architect, Kevin Moore, presented updated plans for the project, detailing the changes made since the commission raised concerns at its December 2025 meeting.
