‘There will always be a St. Joseph’s Day Dinner:’ Rev. Terry Troia reflects as she steps away

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — As the Rev. Terry Troia prepares to leave her role as executive director of Project Hospitality and organizer of the St. Joseph’s Day Dinner for the Hungry, she says the spirit of the beloved saint will continue to inspire passion to end food insecurity.

St. Joseph, the patron saint of Sicily, is believed by Catholics to have saved the people there from famine in the Middle Ages by bringing rain and ending drought through his prayers of intervention.

His inspiration is evident today both in the honorees of the interfaith dinner and those for whom the awards are named, she said…
