A New York man was sentenced to life in prison during Jasper County General Sessions Court for the shooting deaths of two people in 2024 in Hardeeville, according to the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Charles Saunders, 50, was found guilty by a jury Feb. 19 on two charges each of murder and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime for the shooting deaths of Alesia Dykes and Bernard Alexander Lyles, the solicitor’s office said.
