In memoriam: These are the San Antonio restaurants we lost in February 2026

Owning a small business comes with a heaping of challenges, like overhead costs, staffing, inspections and taxes. Because of this, each month brings a new crop of San Antonio restaurant closures, whether they be permanent or temporary.

In February, we saw several food-based businesses make their exits, with others announcing impending closures in the coming weeks.

Ooh La La Korean BBQ

On February 2, MySA confirmed that Ooh La La Korean BBQ was locked out of its location at Park North Shopping Center, effectively closing the business.

Azro Authentic Afghan Cuisine

When rumors online swirled about the status of Azro, MySA looked into the restaurant’s possible closure. We confirmed that the restaurant is at least temporarily closed, as its phone line was deactivated and the business itself appeared empty when we stopped by on February 6. A Facebook post hints that the restaurant may reopen at some point in the future.

The Cookshack

A sign on the front door of The Cookshack at The Forum said that the restaurant was closed due to electrical issues, but to date, the location remains unresponsive to calls and messages.

Round Table Pizza

The Round Table Pizza off of I-10 near Huebner Road closed suddenly after less than a year of serving customers. A sign on the pizzeria’s front door directed customers to other Round Table locations in San Antonio and New Braunfels.

Guerito’s Tacos

This popular taco restaurant closed its brick-and-mortar location on Potranco Road, citing some kind of disagreement with the property’s landlord. Guerito’s taco stand at Ingram Park Mall remains open.

Eggspectation

The Canadian brunch chain announced the closure of its sole San Antonio location in February, but customers can still visit the restaurant until March 15, according to a Facebook post from the restaurant.

Luce Ristorante E Enoteca

On February 18, Luce Ristorante E Enoteca, one of San Antonio’s top Italian restaurants, announced it would close after 20 years. Owner and chef Joe Buonincontri said on social media that he expects to remain open through March 7.

Wing Daddy’s

The Wing Daddy’s location on San Pedro Avenue unexpectedly closed permanently sometime in February. The restaurant’s signage has already been removed from the building it once occupied.

Unko Maui’s

Sometime in February, the burger joint was locked out of its home in the Deco District by property management. A sign taped to the front door alleged that Unko Maui’s defaulted on its lease. The owner of the restaurant declined to comment…
