Irish Heritage Month Presentations @ Tewksbury Lodge

In tandem with Irish Heritage Month, a series of presentations will be held at Tewksbury Lodge along the Niagara River. This speaker series will be held every Wednesday in March, and no reservations are necessary.

The series is as follows:

  • March 4th will feature Mike Casella – Board Member of the Buffalo Harbor Museum & sightseeing guide on the Buffalo River – will do a presentation on the Irish and their involvement in the “Building of the Buffalo Harbor.”
  • On March 11th Erin Barr, Ph.D. – SUNY Assistant Professor of History & Social Studies – will discuss “Red, White, Blue and Green, the NY Irish Regiments of the Civil War.”
  • Timothy Bohen – local author of “Against the Grain” and “Emerald Thread” – on March 18th will be discussing “The Irish and the Erie Canal that Made America.”
  • On March 25th, Thomas Edward Caulfield, Ph.D. – a locally noted expert on Irish history and politics will present on the topic of “The 1980-1981 Irish Hunger Strikes.”

A $10 donation is encouraged. Food and beverages will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m…
