Komets home struggles continue in 2-1 loss to Cyclones

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Playing their first home game off a six-game road stretch, the Komets fell short to the Cincinnati Cyclones in a 2-1 loss on “Komets Fight Cancer” night.

Friday’s contest was a defensive struggle, with Sam Jonsson and Ken Appleby both stepping up for clutch saves throughout the night.

Cincinnati scored first off a shot from Jaxson Murray at 15:17 of the first period. The Komets finally lit the lamp in the second period thanks to Matt Copponi. The forward connected on a shot off an assist from Tyler Inamoto to tie the game at 1-1. However, Cincinnati scored the go-ahead goal at 15:27 of the third period.
